Mable Prunty

Mable Rechee' Prunty APRN-BC is a lifelong resident of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She is a 2010 recipient of the St.Bernards Medical Centers Living the Mission Award and a 2018 finalist for the Healthcare Heroes award in Women's Health. She has approximately Twenty years' experience in healthcare in various positions. Starting as a housekeeper, then a Patient care Technician, RN, then graduated in 2013 as a Board Certified APRN. She applied to and was 1 of 5 students accepted into the 2016 ASU Nursing Doctoral program. At the same time, her current career was starting to unfold, so she decided to place that on hold to be the best provider she could be without any distractions. Currently, she is a full-time provider at a pregnancy clinic. Alongside her close friend/Cohort, they were able to open the clinic in 2016 due to the vision they had to provide care to patients who did not have options for their care given their financial hardships and lack of insurance. There she can provide care to those individuals and be a listening ear to issues they may face physically and personally. Throughout this process, she has obtained her patients' and co-workers' trust and made many lifelong relationships.

As a child, she had a vast imagination and often wrote short stories. It has always been one of her lifelong dreams to become an author. It wasn't until she was in college that her English instructor gave her the confidence to pursue her dream after reading one of her short stories. Of course, life happened, and the goal was on the back burner for some time.

Over the years, Mable has consistently made every attempt to defy the odds. She makes it a point to tackle adversity head on and persevere through whatever obstacle she may face. Her motto is, "If you have a desire in your heart, it was placed there by God for you to achieve it.”

She is a wife, a mother of 4; 2 sons and two daughters. She also has two daughters-in-law and a very handsome grandson. She lives in her hometown with her husband and their two younger daughters.
