James Gano

James Gano has always loved writing and using words to convey emotions. He has a unique way of making you believe you somehow know the characters he creates. He makes them relatable and gets you to feel what they feel. You find yourself rooting for the main characters of his stories. When writing, he likes to visualize the scene first, then describe the action taking place so you feel as if you are watching the story in your mind, rather than just reading words on a page.

Gano also likes to use words that will make you feel different emotions, such as happiness, fear, joy, sadness and hope. He wants you to connect and relate to each character in some way. Whether his characters remind you of yourself, or someone you know, you will find yourself wanting to turn the next page to see what happens to them.

Gano's first book, "The Student" was met with critical acclaim.

Writer's Digest Magazine said of Gano's style, “Gano’s characters are likeable and very believable. Readers sympathize with them as their relationship evolves."

When he's not writing, Gano devotes a lot of his time to several non-profits in his community as a Board Member and emcee of various fundraising events. Jim also owns a local business called Crown Trophy of Flemington which specializes in all types of awards and recognition for local sports teams, organizations and corporations.

Gano invites two special needs students along with their job coaches twice a year from the local high school to work in a twelve-week rotation at his business to learn various job skills that Gano hopes will help them find permanent employment after graduation. In addition to work skills, Gano teaches them life skills as well and instills in them the belief that they can do anything they set their mind to.
