Evie Lennon

Readers,

I'm skipping the roster of schools attended, awards received, and job titles held. It's when those things slipped through my fingers that I had a tale to tell.

What I most want you to know about my career is how it shaped the lens I look through when I see your struggles.

I became an unlikely hospital chaplain because too many family members met an early death. My personal history coupled with my clinical training and experience made it easier for me to spot the grieving process outside of death.

Chronic conditions inevitably bring about losses and it bothered me to see you going through this without the support that I know personally and professionally should absolutely be in place for this level of duress.

I learned about the power of words to encourage in hospital corridors and about the redemptive power of art to heal teaching at-risk students. I leaned on those lessons when I got sick and pass them on to you in hopes that you can "Draw Comfort.".
