Toni Ortner

Writing has helped me to survive. I make sense of the world when I see my words on the page. I have had 25 books published by small presses which are sold on Amazon, Kobo, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, the small presses, and independent bookstores. Most of my books are poetry except for Writing Shiva which is a memoir and Summoned which is about six famous women in history who heard the call of God and altered their lives to better the world.

My most recent books are Daybook I and II by Deerbrook Editions and Daybook III by Ardent Writer Press. These contain prose and prose poems that are based on the idea of Virginia Woolf who said, "What sort of diary should I like mine to be? Something ...so elastic that it will embrace anything, solemn, slight, or beautiful that comes to mind. I should like it to reflect the light of our life." I have always been fascinated by the dairies of women.

I feel each of us is here for a reason and part of mine is to write. I hope that my books bring insight and comfort to my readers.
