Bean is the author of the bestselling book, “Fail Fast, Learn Faster: Lessons in Data-Driven Leadership in an Age of Disruption, Big Data, and AI”. He was founder and CEO of NewVantage Partners, a strategic advisory firm which he founded in 2001, and which was acquired in 2021. Bean also served as co-chair and president of the James Merrill Foundation, an internationally acclaimed writers residency program. He is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where he serves on the National Council for the College of Arts & Sciences.
