Charles Johnson writes from the heart. He incorporates his past, present and his goals for the future in many of his poems. He is totally honest and I am always moved by his writings. He is very true to his self, and does not hide behind words but totally writes from his perspective. I have enjoyed sharing his poems with others, as well as his books. I met Charles Johnson doing my stay at St Jude center. Charles introduced me to his poetry as I read his poetry I came to realize that I wasn't the only one someone actually felt the way I felt. His poetry what back feelings and memories of things and thoughts that I thought were buried it was very healing and rewarding his work does Windows for the soul lots of tears but joyful ones.
