Jacqueline Pearce

Jacqueline Pearce is an award-winning author of children’s books and poetry who lives on the edge of a forested ravine near Vancouver, Canada. Jacqueline’s novels and nonfiction for children and teens celebrate friendship, diversity, local history, and relationships between people, nature, and animals.

Jacqueline’s debut collection of haiku poetry, THE WARM LAND (Caitlin Press, 2026) explores moments of wonder, discovery, poignancy and humour growing up in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. She is editor of LAST TRAIN HOME (Pondhawk Press 2021), a Haiku Society of America Merit Award-winning international collection of haiku, tanka and rengay about trains. Jacqueline's haiku can also be found in anthologies such as WORTH MORE STANDING: Poets and Activists Pay Homage to Trees (Caitlin Press 2022), A NEW RESONANCE 11: Emerging Voices in English-Language Haiku (Red Moon Press, 2019) and ANOTHER TRIP AROUND THE SUN: 365 Days of Haiku for Children Young and Old (Brooks Books, 2019).
