Sandra CH Smith has adventuring in her DNA and recovering from alcoholism tops it all. At 11, while studying in Scotland, she delved into many dark, dank dungeons. As a Beatnik teen in San Francisco’s North Beach, she hung out with Kesey, Ginsberg and other Beat writers. Thirty years later, Lawrence Ferlinghetti was a frequent guest/crew aboard her sailboat. After studying Foreign Affairs/International Economics at George Washington Univ., Smith obtained a Master’s from Grenoble Univ., France, and became an expert on French wines, cheeses and Cognac. She still speaks fluent French. Past careers include: assistant to Hewlett-Packard’s director in Geneva, Switz.; lobbyist for major Arts/Cultural organizations; director of several Arts Councils; newspaper editor; actor; artist model, chef; innkeeper; and while solo-sailing the Pacific, host for many years of her own on-board "As The Anchor Drags" radio show. Still in joyful recovery, Smith is working on a sequel to Out of the Fog! A Story of Survival, Faith and Courage, with more tales of her adventures in the Pacific. SandraCHSmith.com
