Jonathan Byrd is a husband, father of three daughters, and an eternal optimist, some might even say Micawber. He was born in Biloxi and never imagined living anywhere else. However, after leaving, he never imagined moving back. The more he sees of the world, the more he wants to see. Most recently he lived in Fairhope, the hidden jewel of Alabama. A town that many great authors have called home. Currently he is living in and exploring Stuttgart, Germany.
He has completed an unpublished historical fiction novel set in the Prohibition Era on the Mississippi Gulf Coast entitled Seafood Capital of the World, which was a finalist in the 2021 Faulkner-Wisdom Creative Writing Competition. He is also finishing the first of a series that is a military thriller for the common soldier.
He is a member of Transcendent Authors, a group of ten authors who have been self-publishing anthologies of short stories since 2021. Their titles include: Tolerance: A Collection of Short Stories, Autumn: An Anthology, Spring—The Unexpected, Winter: An End and a Promise; and Summer: When Doors Open.
When he isn’t writing, he’s thinking about writing even if it looks like he’s doing something else—like work. He has an answer for everything, opinion on anything, and is quiet about nothing.
