Kevin E. Yates

Kevin studied theology at Springdale College, Birmingham, and was ordained as a Minister in the Fellowship of the Churches of Christ in Great Britain and Ireland 1993. He has over 30 years’ experience of preaching and leading worship in both Evangelical and Charismatic Anglo-Catholic settings.

He has a BSc from the Open University where he studied Astronomy and Planetary Science. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society in 2002. For ten years he managed the UK government’s Near Earth Object Information Centre, based at the National Space Centre in Leicester, where he also served as Space Communications Manager.

He has conducted hundreds of TV and radio interviews covering a wide range of space topics, in addition to speaking about the perceived conflict between faith and science. He has also authored scripts for award-winning full-dome planetarium shows narrated by actors such as David Tennant and Rupert Grint. These shows have played in over 600 planetaria across 60 countries.

Kevin is currently Head of Exhibition Development at the National Space Centre, and is a Benedictine Oblate of The Community of the Holy Cross, Costock, UK.
