Lawrence Helliwell

Lawrence Helliwell worked as an Anaesthetist, GP and Paediatric doctor from the 1980s until his retirement.

His passions now include spending time with his wife and family, listening to loud Rock music, attempting DIY and messing about with his model railway. He is an accidental author.

The Crash Team is his first book, designed to be a funny, but honest, look at the frailties of doctors on the frontline, including at a time when political correctness was still an embryo.

Written whilst on planes, trains and lying on a Spanish sunbed, and completed whilst still delirious with a Covid-19 infection. He hopes you enjoy this book and would like to thank his mother-in-law for supplying copies of a certain tabloid newspaper which provided both a useful plot-line and a perfect fit for his cat's litter tray.
