Shawn Hall

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Shawn caught the Ghost Town Fever in high school. While attending Harvard, he made his first trip to Nye County and his first book was published in 1981. He came back to Nevada every year during the summer to explore new territory for future books and also cowboy on a central Nevada ranch. After graduation in 1983, he moved permanently to Nevada and has continued writing while pursuing a career running a number of Nevada museums. 8 books later, he is finishing up his next project on Esmeralda and Mineral counties, hopefully to be finished in 2022. He has dedicated his life to helping preserving and documenting the history of these wonderful Nevada ghost towns for future generations. Remember, take photographs and nothing else!
