Fraz Rees

Rees's journey has been a whirlwind of grit, tears, devastation, dedication, wonder and enlightenment.

She discovered the power of a science-based nutrition protocol and alternative therapy when her husband, Anthony was diagnosed with terminal oesophageal cancer, aged 46 and was given a survival rate of six months. Desperate to reverse this prognosis she explored every aspect of health care available, her search led her to a Functional Medicine Practitioner. Within weeks her guidance and nutritional advice allowed her to regain an element of control in his treatment outside conventional medicine, in short, they were able to extend Anthony's life for a further three years.

The journey was one of the hardest journeys she has ever had to endure. She implemented coping strategies and self-care practices that allowed her to cope with one of her biggest fears - losing Anthony. The experience drove Rees to embark upon a functional nutrition course at the College of Naturopathic Medicine, inspired by Anthony's practitioner she wanted to learn more and do more for others.

Acknowledging that she did everything in her power to save him offered solace and substance to her grieving and her current training at the college has proven that something positive can emerge from such a tragedy. Transforming others faith in nutrition and well-being practices is at the very heart of what she believes in, to change others’ lives for the better offers her immense personal reward and consolation.

In order to reach a broader network Rees took to writing a collection of nutritional based well-being guides under the Handy Health Series range. Protection Behind the Mask is the first instalment in her collection. The book allows readers to manage and optimise their wellbeing through nutritional foods, mental-coping strategies and general health awareness amid COVID-19.

The message is simple. Rees wants to impart her knowledge to a wider audience other than close relatives and friends to do her part for the good of humanity and allow others to become empowered and knowledgeable in these challenging times.

Rees resides in Oxfordshire with her beautiful family and her extended family of seven ducks, Bonnie, Clyde, Maximus, Ophelia, Dexter, Klaus and Joey - such wonderful little characters who keep her family in a bountiful supply of organic duck eggs!
