George Decsy spent a happy childhood in Budapest, the capital city of the Hungarian People’s Republic. Fleeing the violence and chaotic uncertainty of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, 10-year-old George and his family joined thousands of refugees on a perilous journey across Europe, eventually finding a new home in England. As a survivor, George was blessed with a smidgen of sense, street smarts and a positive entrepreneurial outlook topped with a dollop of luck. From a Rock-n-Roll drummer to a luxury yacht captain, his irreverent career has carried him across the seas and back again. Currently dividing his time between Florida, Maine and the Caribbean, he can usually be found wherever cheap rum is readily available.
