Jacquie Sewell

I was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, most likely with a book in my hands but my mother wouldn't have minded because she probably had a book in her hands as well. Reading has been a constant source of joy, instruction, and blessing in my life. Sharing stories and information seemed to flow naturally from my love of words - I began "dictating" stories to my mother at an early age.

After honing my writing skills as a free lance writer for a decade or so, I was thrust into the world of children's literature when I became an elementary school librarian. A new love affair with picture books was born and the focus of my writing shifted. As a history buff, naturalist, and all-around curious child of God, I love sharing our amazing world with children and the young-at-heart through my writing.

In 2018, my first picture book, Mighty Mac, The Bridge That Michigan Built, was published by Peninsulam Publishers.

My second picture book, Whale Fall Cafe, was released by Tilbury House Publishers in April of 2021.
