Spencer Spalding is a novelist and poet from San Francisco, California. Raised in various parts of the Northern Bay Area of California, as well as the rural landscapes of East Texas, Spencer receives his inspiration from the beauty of the Universe at large. He finds himself drawn toward creating short stories, flash fiction, novels, songs, and poetry all of which seek to incorporate ideals of love, elements of nature, and glimpses into the experience of humanity. Spencer received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Ancient History from San Francisco State University. His studies focused on Ancient Mediterranean Cultures, their architecture, their art, and their works of literature, which eventually lead him to pursue a minor in Classical Studies.

He used the skills he learned from his professors to read the classics in their ancient scripts in an effort to better understand epic literature and its impact on the world. Spencer sees himself as a student of the great historians, philosophers, poets, and orators of the Ancient World.

would not be the man I am today, nor would I ever be the type of writer that I strive to become.”

For now, Spencer Spalding can be found on the western side of San Francisco, watching the Sun set over the Pacific Ocean, dreaming of the words for his next novel.
