José Pérez Vigueras

Originally from Murcia, Spain, I live and practice my profession in this region. My professional career began during my teaching studies and has been enriched by various university disciplines, combined with my work as a firefighter-paramedic response leader. This combination of experiences has cultivated in me a lifelong learning attitude and a multidisciplinary perspective. My academic and professional interests focus on university teaching as a lecturer and research, with a special emphasis on critical areas such as medical emergencies, patient care, and the role of first responders.

My experience includes leading international rescue teams in my role as President of the NGO Firefighters Without Borders, as well as the conceptualization and development of innovative initiatives, such as single-responder rescue maneuvers and specific nutritional programs for emergency responders. However, one of the most significant challenges of my career has been the founding and management of IFUR S.L. a company dedicated to research and training in emergency situations, along with the creation of a specialized publishing house. This initiative was inspired by my previous experience as executive director of a renowned national publishing house focused on emergencies and emergencies.

Although I look back on my career with some nostalgia, I remain firmly committed to research, innovation, and teaching. During my current university years, I have collaborated with prestigious institutions such as ANECA (National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians) and the Ministry of Education in the training of future Emergency Medical Technicians. Research has acquired significant scope thanks to the support of the private sector, which has allowed me to explore diverse and enriching perspectives.

In the business world, my focus is on training the general public as first responders in emergency situations, a crucial task given the chronic shortage of personnel and resources in these contexts. My aspiration is to transform the population into active, prepared agents to respond effectively to disasters or terrorist acts until professional rescue teams arrive.

My literary output ranges from highly specialized publications in the field of emergencies, urgencies, and disasters to the creation of educational materials for children. All of these works are inspired by my professional experiences and my commitment to training and outreach in this field.

In short, my career is defined by a constant pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, and innovation, with the goal of contributing to the advancement of emergency care and preparing society to face critical situations.
