Jaqui O'Donohoe

From the corporate world of insurance, to disappearing solo into the bush for days at a time, Jaqui loves to live a life of adventure with resilience and grit.

After her dreams of following in Dad’s footsteps into the Navy were quashed due to a medical condition, Jaqui became a Police Officer in Western Australia. Her time in the Police Force saw her serve most of her career as a Plain Clothes Officer in the Perth City Detective Unit specializing in the eradication of street prostitution. Leaving the Police to care for her ailing Dad Jaqui joined the corporate insurance world. She has continued in this career, which led her to relocate to Melbourne with her husband and fur babies and she has a key focus on strategic growth of the business as well as providing service to stakeholders.

Jaqui is an active member of Rotary and President Elect for the Rotary Club of Southbank for 21/22. This role has given Jaqui the opportunity to not only help in her community, but to enjoy her love of speaking publicly to large groups, corporate and public service, including master of ceremony for formal events and be exposed to a community that puts service above self.

Away from work, Jaqui’s passion is running ultra-marathons in the bush, or solo hiking for weeks at a time. She loves being immersed in nature and draws inspiration from her late Dad, who served in the Royal Australian Navy to find the strength and resilience to run 100mile races through the bush. Jaqui is known to be up at 4am to get in a trail run before work because she loves it so much.

Jaqui enjoys connection, learning and telling her story to inspire others to live their best lives.
