Timala Melancon

Timala Melancon is just a spunky old retired theatre teacher turned beekeeper. Like her character; Marigold, she is a hardworking curious dreamer. After retirement, she joined her husband, Lonnie, as a professional beekeeper. Her former students, now teachers, invited her to speak to their students about the most important insect, the honeybee. That was when the idea of writing an early reader book that used a compelling character (Marigold) to educate students about the important life of our hardest working pollinators became a goal. Timala (Timmie) believes that education is a life long journey. Marigold’s adventures will continue. Students will continue to learn through those adventures.
