Alexandre Acariès is an expert in self-defence and martial arts whose life revolves around his passion for those sports he started practicing at the age of seven. Alexandre has been trained by a dozen experts with varied profiles, some of whom are recognized worldwide, including martial arts expert, nightclub doorman, police officer, bodyguard, or even trainer of anti-terrorist commando units.
All these experiences have enabled Alexandre to obtain five black belts in five different martial arts disciplines: 5th dan in Krav Maga (Israeli commando self-defence method), 3rd dan in karate (Japanese martial art), 2nd dan in Kyusho Jitsu (martial art based on vital points), 1st dan in Penchak Silat (Indonesian commando self-defence method), and 1st dan in Goshin Jutsu (Japanese martial art based on joint locks).
Alexandre Acariès is graduated with two teaching diplomas recognized by the French State: the DEJEPS (Diplôme d'État de la Jeunesse, de l'Éducation Populaire et du Sport) as well as the BEES 1st degree in karate (Brevet d'État d'éducateur sportif). He also obtained several other instructor diplomas validated by major French and international federations.
Alexandre has been teaching since 2001. He has worked in three different sports clubs and has taught dozens of courses and private lessons to train several thousand learners with a wide range of profiles: men and women, children, teenagers and adults, civilians, military personnel and members of the law enforcement.
As an expert, he has had the honor of being published in prestigious specialized magazines such as Karate Bushido, Dragon Magazine, and Self Défense Mag.
In 2010, his wide expertise in martial arts led Alexandre Acariès to conceive and structure his own learning and teaching self-defence method, “Karaté de rue®”. This method, which contains the nectar of his multidisciplinary knowledge, aims at making traditional techniques evolve towards more pragmatism and efficiency so that they become much more adapted to the present time. It includes, among other things, a self-defence module dedicated to children, the “P.A.P.A.: Protection Adaptée au Profil de l'Agresseur®” method.
Alongside the courses he conducted in his club, Alexandre Acariès received many emails from France and abroad from people who asked him if he could share his teaching on a wider scale. Hence he decided to invest thousands of euros to educate himself in new technologies in order to upload courses accessible all around the world directly from the Internet. He is also the author of several DVDs translated into several languages.
Today, Alexandre federates a vast community of self-defence and martial arts fans on his social networks. His videos have been watched tens of millions of times and his online training sessions have helped more than a thousand people, children, teenagers, adults, beginners, advanced and even professional coaches.
