Alison Mott

Alison Mott is a writer, story-collector, teacher and historian.

She is passionate about stories – writing them, teaching others to write them, and helping everyone see how important hearing and sharing stories are to our well-being, sense of belonging and connection.

Sometimes the stories Alison shares come from her own life and experiences, sometimes they’re the voices and experiences of people from the past and sometimes from people she’s worked with in coaching sessions, creative writing classes, writing workshops and schools.

Alison’s first book - ‘Rama and Sita – the Story of Diwali’ – was written for children she worked with in a primary school. Her latest book, ‘Daniel and Biscuit’, is about a young boy who loses his pet hamster and in searching for him, learns to navigate the new family situation caused by his parents separating.

Alison lives in urban Leicestershire, where she shares a garden with a family of late-night-partying badgers.
