Eike Exner

Eike Exner is a translator and historian who writes about Japanese comics and the history of comics as a medium. He came to research manga via a PhD in Comparative Literature with specializations in Japanese literature and visual studies. In 2022, his book Comics and the Origins of Manga became the first work on manga to receive a Will Eisner Comics Industry Award. More information about his work can be found at eikeexner-dot-com.
