Gary Goldstein is an author, screenwriter, and playwright. His previous novels include the romantic comedy "The Last Birthday Party," which won an IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award for Excellence in Fiction; the family drama "The Mother I Never Had"; and the coming-of-age dramedy "Please Come to Boston." His latest novel, the dogs-and-divorce comedy "Canine Custody," will be published Sept. 22, 2026 by Koehler Books.
Gary is also an award-winning writer for film, TV, and the theater, with more than thirty screen and stage credits (including more than fifteen telefilms and several theatrical features). A New York native, Boston University graduate, and lifelong dog lover, he resides in Los Angeles. Gary has also been a contributing entertainment writer and film reviewer for the LA Times since 2007.
