Gregor Thuswaldner

Gregor Thuswaldner (Ph.D., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) is a senior academic leader, scholar, and author with extensive experience in higher education administration. He serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty at La Roche University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Before coming to La Roche, he was Provost and Executive Vice President at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. He has published widely, including several books, articles, and book chapters on topics such as literary theory, linguistics, literature, culture, history, politics, religion, and higher education. Among his nine books are the co-edited volumes The Routledge Handbook of Christianity and Culture (2024) and Thomas Bernhard's Afterlives (2020), which was nominated for the Modern Language Association Prize for an Edited Collection. His latest book, The Chief Academic Officer's Handbook: A Provost's Guide to Visionary Leadership, was published by Johns Hopkins University Press in 2025.
