Luke Eden was born and grew up in South Yorkshire, UK. In the 1960’s he was a lost child who worked in dirty northern factories as a welder, fitter, and a plumber while riding cycle speedway and falling in love with motorcycle speedway.. In the 1970’s he decided to get the education he had neglected as a teenager and acquired ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels, a teaching certificate, and a BEd and taught Art in schools. He also ran children’s holidays for the UK equivalent of the massive French, Colony de Vacances. In addition, playing guitar and singing in folk clubs became a way of life until he met his wife and brought up five beautiful children. In the 1980’s he was head-hunted by an international consultancy to train people in team working and leadership and went on start his own business which took him around the world. Luke lost everything when his business crashed in the Credit Crunch and changed his life again to become an artist and singer-songwriter and a born-again speedway fan.
Later he found himself drawn to the Buddhist path which he has followed now for ten years, and draws great strength and contentment from the philosophies that have become a way of life for him. During the 2010’s he realised that if ever he was going to see a crime thriller written with a speedway backdrop, it had to him that wrote it. So he did. Now in his 60’s he remains active and working, writing a second novel and a set of short stories, writing and recording songs, performing in folk clubs, and enjoying life in his modest home in Wales.
