April Jones Daugherty

April Jones Daugherty, co-author of Uncivil War: American Voices, is a poetry-writing, book-loving, wife and mother-of-three who believes in justice and uses the power of words to chase it. Out of friendship, trauma, and sheer stubbornness, Uncivil War: American Voices was born. This is April and LaTonda Evette McQueen’s first collaboration and first collection of poetry, but it will not be their last. With degrees in law, theology, and psychology, April is analytical, curious, and empathetic. Yet it is these qualities, bolstered by her family’s deep love and her own deep faith, that enable April to write the world as she sees it . . . and also as she hopes it might be.
