Audrey Joy Shrive

Audrey is a storytelling, savvy, sixty-something senior who points people to God in her writing. Sometimes she does this with humor and sometimes with the cold, hard truth.

Audrey (Wyatt) Shrive is a West River, South Dakota, farm and ranch raised gal. Her parents, Russell and Betty Wyatt, instilled a strong work ethic, ability to problem solve, resourcefulness and self-reliance into the four children they raised. Audrey is a self-described over-achiever and control enthusiast.

These characteristics, along with a strong faith in Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior, got Audrey through the difficult rejection and loss of her first marriage through divorce. The story of God’s provision and protection during that tumultuous time is told in the pages of her first book, This is from Me. Her faith was foundational in giving her the coping skills to endure a difficult infertility journey. She shares her story and also discusses the barren women of the Bible in her second book, The Empty Womb.

She graduated from the University of South Dakota with degrees in Mass Communication and English.

Audrey was a non-profit professional in the early part of her career working for Junior Achievement, Youth for Christ and the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). In 1998 Audrey was the first female scouting professional to be hired at the Pikes Peak Council, BSA in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Audrey made a career change into the Insurance Industry in 2001, working with a fortune 200 company. She retired in 2025 and now jokes that she is 'a recovering insurance agent.' She now writes and speaks full-time.

Audrey is active in her church and hosts a weekly Bible study in her home. She's a dog mom to two Siberian Husky and an avid football fan.

Audrey enjoys gardening, canning, reading, and writing. She also plays the alto saxophone in a community band.
