Dr. Jaeil Lee is a Fulbright Scholar and experienced professor teaching fashion in universities and the fashion industry globally. She has extensive teaching and industry experience in fashion merchandising, apparel design, and product development. Her experience includes teaching positions in colleges overseas and technical designing and consultant positions at top clothing retailers globally. She currently holds the positions of professor and Chair of Apparel Design and Merchandising Program at Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, WA.
She published a leading college-level technical design textbook, 'Technical Sourcebook for Designers' with Fairchild Books in 2010, the second edition of the book in 2014, and the 3rd edition of the book was released in 2018. Many leading fashion schools and industries around the world currently use the book. She also translated the book into Korean and published it in 2012 and the 2nd edition of the book was published in 2019. Chinese translation of the book was also released by Donghua University Press, China in 2019.
Dr. Lee is the recipient of various awards, including the Distinguished Author Award, Outstanding Professor Award, Outstanding Alumni Award, and Outstanding Service Award.
Dr. Lee has a passion for helping young people to find their life purpose. She is a motivational speaker and best-selling author in her native country, Korea. Her autobiography in Korean, I Design Dreams Everyday, became a best-selling Christian book in Korea in 2006.
