Based in Somerset, Amy Jeffs is a critically acclaimed author and artist. She is a medievalist and a Senior Research Associate and Fellow Commoner at Girton College, Cambridge. She has a PhD in Art History from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
Storyland: A New Mythology of Britain was published by Quercus in September 2021. It was a Sunday Times bestseller and a Waterstones Book of the Month, as well as being shortlisted for Waterstones Book of the Year. Wild: Tales from Early Medieval Britain was published in October 2022. Its audiobook, illustrated with 7 original songs, was named Audiobook of the Week by the Guardian and the Times. Storyland for Children was published by Hachette Kids in 2023 and Saints: A New Legendary was published by Quercus in 2024. Amy has also coauthored with Gwen Burns, Old Songs: Stories of Love and Death from Traditional Ballads which was published by Quercus in September 2025 and named Audiobook of the Week in the Guardian. Arthur: a New Life (forthcoming September 2026), builds a story of the legendary ruler from the earliest surviving texts and artworks. It is illustrated with linocuts and enlarged with nonfiction commentaries.
