Miki Itakura is a specialist of supporting Kids and Mam in Japan.
At age 12, ran away from home and became a street child.
At the age of 14, was sent to a public children's independence support institution.
At 16, gave birth to her first daughter.
At 19, divorced and became a single mother and lived in a park with her child.
In 2004, based on her own experience, started rescuing and supporting those with: the trauma of the abuse/domestic violence; the physical and mental scars; the developmental disorders, withdrawal, suicidal and so on.
It’s called OHANA Life Rescue.
In 2011, Founded NPO Overgenes to help mothers in trouble of bonding with children.
In 2018, launched a shared house called OHANA house in Niigata to shelter children and mothers in emergencies. Now there are three OHANA houses in Niigata, Fukushima and Okinawa. Also, operating a weekly OHANA Diner there to serve a free meal for kids, single mother/father and lonely old people in needs.
In 2019, from the Foundation for Social Contribution Support (FESCO) Awarded as a social contributor.
