Michael Gougis

Michael Gougis is an award-winning investigative reporter, recipient of awards from several news organizations including the Investigative Reporters & Editors association. His story "Biker Boyz" was made into a major motion picture starring Lawrence Fishburn by Dreamworks. Gougis has written extensively about politics, economics, environmental issues and law.

Gougis is an Associate Professor at Santa Monica College and the author of "Cornerstones," an accessible, easy-to-read primer on mass media analysis, with an emphasis on commercial media representations of gender and race.

"Bridge" is his first full-length fiction novel.

He is also a motorsports photojournalist who has covered motorcycle road racing around the world. His latest book, "Legend: Marc Marquez' 2019 MotoGP World Championship," chronicles the most dominant season in MotoGP history by the record-setting rider and champion.

His latest book, "15 Moments of Sanity," is the first in a series of books about addiction and recovery.
