Tracey was a teacher for more years than she would like to admit. She looked forward to the end of the school day, not the bit when the bell rang for home time (well maybe sometimes…) but story time; the bit when children stopped tearing at the velcro on their shoes so they could hear every word of the story. Tracey wanted to write the kind of stories that kept children sitting on the scratchy nylon carpet long after the bell. She hopes her books have the ‘just one more page’ effect.
If you saw Tracey today, in her fluffy boot slippers, you wouldn’t believe that she drove to school on a motorbike, climbed volcanoes, swam with dolphins and even jumped out of a plane. She now thinks that the best adventures you can have are with a pen.
Tracey is lucky to live in beautiful Northumberland with her husband, and sometimes her daughter who has escaped to university. They love walking on the beach and eating chocolate.
