Anne Frehill

Author of three books, Anne Frehill's latest is entitled:The Shadows of Betrayal published in March 2026. See below****

Anne has enjoyed creative writing since her early teens. Over the years she has had short stories and non-fiction published in a range of magazines within Ireland.

She has also contributed to Sunday Miscellany on RTE Radio 1. And she was included in an Anthology relating to the same show, edited by Marie Heaney for 2003 and 2004.

Since 2020 she has written regularly in a local online newsletter, on a range of topics from witchcraft to Lady Betty: Ireland`s only female executioner.

Anne writes articles and memory pieces for Ireland`s Own magazine as well as occasional articles and short stories for Ireland`s Eye magazine. Her short story "Captain Jack," was included in the 2021 Anthology of Winning Irish Stories and Memories (Ireland`s Own).

Anne is a self-confessed history addict. In addition, she enjoys folklore, sociology and nature. She is passionate about animal welfare and care of the earth. She is the author of three historical novels.

Her first novel When Silence Hurts was published in 2021 about domestic abuse / coercive control. It received great feedback. One reviewer said ; "Anne Frehill did an outstanding job with character development." And then added "for the excellent character development , the realistic story of domestic violence and the dynamics surrounding it, I award this book 4 out of 4 stars." B. Creech. In December 2022 this book was featured on The Joe Duffy Radio Show on RTE Radio 1.

Her second novel Reapers of Justice was also published in 2021. It has been described as immersive and unputdownable. It has received much praise as readers are fascinated with one of the main characters, Sean, who is a man on the run from the forces of the Crown.

In July 2023 this book was longlisted for the Carousel Aware Prize (The Cap Awards)
