My graduate school training was in the field of American church history at Vanderbilt. After I became a lawyer as a hobby I started reading about the conquest. This in turn led to the debate over where Cabeza de Vaca landed on the Texas coast in 1528. I was not satisfied with the conventional wisdom of Davenport that it was Follets San Luis Peninsula. So I started reading, and writing, from about 2006 to 2021. The result of this research is my book The Discovery of Texas.
