Aisha Yusuf is a Somali-Canadian who found her voice through writing. Growing up she was an avid reader but started to feel disconnected from stories due to the absence of important voices in literature. She decided to take matters into her own hands after hearing Toni Morrison’s advice and wrote the book she’s always wanted to read. Aisha started her writing journey when she was fifteen years old and hasn’t stopped since.
