Ramona Mitchell

My Chicago Prairie, the story of Maggie and her friends coming of age in the 1950's in a vanished place on the outskirts of Chicago, was published in 2005 by Publish America. Ramona Mitchell Peters, a high school English teacher, a life-long Chicagoan, holds an M.A.T. in English from the University of Chicago. Ramona relocated in 2011 to Fernandina Beach in Florida where walking the beach, turtle patrol and discovering the enchantment of this unique island home opened a new chapter in her life. Ramona's experience with turtle patrol led to her writing several children's picture book stories about sea turtles which, hopefully, will soon be published. Also in the works is a fantasy story for young adults -- "Happy Things: A Fairy Tale." Look for Ramona's new blog, SAVOR THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD -- coming soon!
