Patrick Slevin

I served for nine years with the British Army. I was part of a tank crew with the famous 17th/21st Lancers, better known to some as The Death or Glory Boys. I left the army after being injured and found it difficult to settle. But, to keep the wolf from the door, I took any job that I could get, including; encyclopaedia salesman;Insurance man; milkman;taxi;driver; driving instructor; and seasonal potato picker. Eventually, when I was fully recovered from my injuries, I found a new career with the Nottinghamshire Ambulance Service. I progressed through most levels and retired as the Deputy Chief Ambulance Officer. All of which has given me a great insight to many aspects of human nature. These experiences are, I hope, reflected in many of my poems, which may make you laugh, think, and occasionally cry. In any case. I hope that my writings will, at least, amuse you.
