Simonetta Moro

Simonetta Moro is a visual artist and a published author whose work focuses on cartographic practices and their theoretical examinations. Her artwork has been exhibited internationally. Her publications include The Vattimo Dictionary (Edinburgh University Press, 2023, as editor); Mapping Paradigms in Modern and Contemporary Art: Poetic Cartography (Routledge, 2021); ‘Mapping as Aesthetic Practice: Toward a Theory of Carto-Aesthetics’, in Gregory Blair and Noah Bronstein (eds), Spatial Transgressions in the Arts (Palgrave Macmillan, 2020), ‘Mapping Practices and the Cartographic Imagination’, Subjectivity 13(4) (2020). Moro is Professor of Art, Philosophy and Visual Studies, Director and Vice-President for Academic Affairs at the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts (IDSVA).
