L.A. Bockman

L.A. Bockman, author of the "Like Earth?" budding series as well as the "Search 4 Splendor” novels has nothing to brag or boast about. Once a precocious child who loved Rock n’ Roll, Art/Drawing, Reading/Poetry, Nature, and all of Life. After some strange, untoward circumstances occurred when she was nine years old, this rendered her path to play out a little differently. A childhood-stained — nay, a childhood-altered path that was lit-up, glowing, twisty — nearly serpentine. But all the while, a path that was still splendorous, glorious, and bathed in the Literary Musical Nectarous Pudding of "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," "Stairway To Heaven," "Fellowship of The Ring," "Bold As Love," and Hot Molten “Dandelion Wine.”

From childhood, she went on to grow up into a “punk rocker/experimental teenager,” who, at seventeen, started college. Eventually attending two Universities, she finally earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Humanities/Cultural Anthropology: all the while, painting pictures, designing strange, glittery, magician-inspired outfits, and hanging out at rock concerts. She worked during high school and college at various jobs: an ice cream store, selling fur coats at sixteen years old to middle aged women, a collection agency, antique clothing store, perfume factory, flipping hamburgers (for one day) in a local bowling alley’s restaurant, etc. Whereby, alluding to jobs — after not landing her ideal job after college, and some other colorful events, she moved to Hollywood, CA. There, she planted herself, along with her paint-sets, her wayward clothes, and her writing and poems that she always carried around with her in a transportable box, from one apartment to the next — slivers and fragments from her younger years.

A guitar player since childhood, she went on to work at The Guitar Center in Hollywood, CA, selling amps, guitar strings and electric guitar accessories to some of her favorite rock stars; that is, until getting hired at a famous (now defunct) Accounting firm in Downtown Los Angeles as an Administrative Assistant, who, somehow or other, over the years, got promoted to a Financial Analyst, and then to an Auditor/Consultant. Yet, she waved goodbye to the corporate world: as she "woke up" one day, resolved to become a writer; and to this vision, like a compulsion, she still fervently adheres. She took up her writerly pen, with zero expectations other than to write books and document memories in such a way that could serve as “mirrors and cognitive expanders” to her Life — and to all of Life.
