B.D. Yates is new to the publishing scene, but he has been writing stories since childhood. Yates competed in the “Power of the Pen” competition as a young adult, and went on to win a short story competition at age 17 that gave him his first print publication in “The Anthology of Short Stories by Young Americans”. He is also the Grand Prize Winner of the “Welcome to the Blumhouse” writing contest.
Yates went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, but while in college he also studied creative writing and volunteered for an independent study focusing on horror fiction. His favorite authors and biggest influences are Stephen King, Richard Matheson, and Michael Chrichton.
