Marisela Marquez

Dr. Mari Marquez is a researcher and educator who views loss not as something to "get over," but as an experience to be integrated into a full and meaningful life. She believes that living with the experience of the death of a loved one is not something to overcome, but rather an ongoing integration practice that involves tending to one’s own grief and tending to the self.

Her 90-day workbook, Gentle Steps for Growing Around Grief (available May 1, 2026, solely on Amazon), is designed not as an end point, but as a vital starting point—another compassionate tool for the griever’s toolkit. It offers a structured way to begin the work of "Intentional Integration" through micro-steps, grounded in five research-based pillars: Preservation, Regulation, Anchoring, Agency, and Connection.

In addition to her private work, Dr. Mari serves as a facilitator for the Resilient Parenting program through Arizona State University, where she helps families learn self-care tools and build strong family bonds after loss. As she prepares to launch the Growth After Loss membership, a series of upcoming workshops, her mission remains the same: to support those who have experienced the loss of a loved one through research, frameworks, and compassion to grow around loss rather than being solely depleted by it.
