Jacquie Rogers

Jacquie Rogers grew up in Australia and lived abroad for many years before settling back in the UK. She worked in advertising, teaching, and research, eventually discovering that writing suits her best.

Her Quintus Valerius Roman mysteries begin with The Governor’s Man, continuing with The Carnelian Phoenix and The Loyal Centurion. More Quintus novels are in the works. A prequel novelette, A Night Blacker and Darker, was added in August 2026.

Jacquie's new Otto Cornelius series, coming soon, is contemporaneous with the Quintus Valerius books and set in Wroxeter Roman city and surrounds.

Her linked short stories appear in Roman anthologies Imperium, and Triumphs and Tragedies. Others appear in UK Crime Writers' Association 2024 anthology, Midsummer Mysteries, and in multi-period historical anthology The Ring, a fund-raiser for the Reading Agency in 2025.

Jacquie was Runner Up in the Lincoln Book Festival story competitions of 2020 and 2021.

Jacquie lives in Malvern, England, where she walks the hills with her husband and dog. She travels round Europe by motorbike, and enjoys discussing politics, travel and books with friends and family. She spends a lot of time in cafés and pubs.
