C.A.Watts lives in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Australia and has been writing stories since they learned to write their name. C.A.Watts mapped out the Ventura series at the age of 15 and has spent over a decade carefully cultivating the story to maximise the enjoyment for its readers.

“Fantasy stories gave me worlds to escape to. The world is in such turmoil, particularly now and kids need escapism more than ever. If even one child benefits from Ventura… it was all worth it.” -C.A.Watts.

Though aimed at a young adult audience, there are messages within that all ages can take away from the story, with a major aim of the series to be all inclusive.

“One of the main characters had behavioural disorders. I have LBGTQ+ characters, non-binary characters, disabled characters. Every race, colour, creed is included and it is not a big show of look this is my obviously gay character or look at this specifically placed ADHD child where everything they do centres around their diagnosis! No. Each and every character has their own identity and purpose and the variety in characters is meant to mirror the real world. They are getting the inclusion and acknowledgement they deserve, without these factors ever being explicitly stated because every character’s focus is on who they are not what they are.” -C.A.Watts.

Valeria, the first world explored, is a world of Fae creatures and the various races within are often at adds with each other. The exploration of racial issues and governmental structure aims to push people to really think about what kind of world they want to live in and take real action to make it a reality.
