Starting as an early BI guy on a green screen with COBOL, printing kilos of endless zebra paper, the way was clear to step into a career in Data Engineering. Experienced lots of exciting data integration, Data Warehousing/BI and migration projects I have been given the opportunity to work for one of my all time favorite companies in the Swiss Data and AI Team: Microsoft!

Recently I have recognized, that I have been doing Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Modelling and Advanced Analytical architectures now for more than 27! years. And when Packt Publishing approached me with the suggestion to write about Azure analytical data services I realized, that I again found a great chance and started into the challenge.
