Reza’s passion is learning and teaching diagnostic reasoning with the goal of helping others find joy in their health care training and careers. With Rabih Geha, he co-founded Clinical Problem Solvers, whose mission is to democratize the teaching of diagnostic reasoning. The CPSolvers podcast has listeners in over 165 countries.
Reza was born in Tehran, Iran. His family immigrated to the United States when he was 2 years old. He grew up in a suburb outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed internal medicine residency training at University of California San Francisco, where he received the Jeffrey Weingarten Award for exemplifying the personal and professional qualities of a UCSF physician. His first faculty position was at Johns Hopkins University where he was awarded the Osler Housestaff Faculty Teaching Award.
He enjoys bodybuilding, long sessions on the elliptical, walks on the Chicago Lakefront Trail, and eating at Chipotle. He is not sponsored by Chipotle, yet.
