Tom Atencio

About the Author

Tom Atencio is widely acclaimed as an influential leader who brings success, direction, and structure to United States youth soccer programs. With an illustrious coaching record that includes 31 state championships, 12 regional championships, and 2 national championships, Tom has traveled domestically and globally for soccer-specific education and competition.

During Tom’s 25-year career in soccer, he has demonstrated a warrior-mindset commitment to education that includes educational courses in Spain, France, Spain, Holland, Germany, China, Japan, South Korea, Morocco, and throughout the United States.

Professionally, Tom has held positions that include Executive Director, Program Regional Head Coach, United States Soccer Federation A' License, and National Camp staff and scout. He has coached 40+ regional level players, 11+ national level players, and has held several executive board positions. Tom Atencio

Tom grew up in Claremont California with his father, Marshall, his mother, Carmen, and his sisters, Susan and Monica, and attended Damien High School. After high school, he attended California State University Fullerton and earned a BA in Political Science. He currently lives in San Francisco, California. He is a connoisseur of fine dining, and a dog lover.
