Angela Esco Elder

Angela Esco Elder is a historian and writer living in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

After graduating from the University of Georgia with a Ph.D in History, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies at Virginia Tech. She currently teaches American history at Converse University, in South Carolina. Her classes include "Duels, Disease, and Disaster: Death in 19th Century America" and "Disney's America: History and Performance."

Dr. Elder is the author of a number of essays and books, including Practical Strangers: The Courtship Correspondence of Nathaniel Dawson and Elodie Todd, Sister of Mary Todd Lincoln.
