Martin R Howard

Martin R Howard is a retired hospital consultant and honorary visiting professor at the University of York in the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He has a longstanding interest in the wars of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries with a particular focus on the human dimension of conflict and the lesser known campaigns. His most recently published book in the field is The Fevered Fight: A Medical History of the American Revolution 1775-1783. His medical history of the Napoleonic Wars will be published in early 2025.
