Brandon's favourite thing is making up stories. If you stand still near him for more than a few seconds he'll tell you them. Incessantly. On a good day he remembers to write them down. On the other days he trusts that the good ones will come back to him. They sometimes do.
When he's not writing, Brandon can be found at the local primary-school as his alter-ego, the Library Troll. This involves lurking in the library, moving stuff about, encouraging reading and generally looking after the books. He awaits the day a bridge is installed so he can lurk properly.
Before becoming an author, Brandon was a software engineer, computer game developer, electronic engineer, inventor, yarn spinner (as in wool) and fencing coach (as in sword-fighting). He claims that each one seemed like the right thing at the time. No matter which job, it somehow all led back to stories. However, crafting characters and weaving plot threads is no way to design an electronic circuit.
In his 'free' time, Brandon loves to roam the hillsides, build improbable things with LEGO, and play the violin (really badly). He lives in Dunfermline, Scotland, with his wife and two children.
