Shell St. James is a Massachusetts native living in an 1895 farmhouse in rural North Carolina with her musician soulmate, feline muse and a benevolent ghost. She occupies her days taming a murder of crows and spends her nights spinning stories, while listening for the footsteps of departed residents.
